A roving friend of Gizmodo AU brought us this shot of two souls waiting it out at T[life] . We’ll be keeping an eye on this queue, as well as Apple Store and Vodafone, through the bitter cold of this Sydney winter’s night.
And a shout out to Matthew, the first Giz reader to spot the white hoodie (while I’m sitting here tapping away at a keyboard while sitting on a bus bench). With the cold I had to add a big black coat over the hoodie, so I wasn’t as easy to spot as I first thought I would be.

Friday, July 11, 2008 at 12:31 AMGuess the people have spoken – I’ve been told the Telstra coverage with NextG is better, but no doubt most people have decided the Optus plans are better value.
Now, the real interesting photo would be of people queueing outside a Vodafone store… tumbleweeds anyone?

Friday, July 11, 2008 at 1:02 AMAny ideas on what time these photos were taken?
Because if it was recent i’m thinking that Telstra MIGHT reconsider their plans.. Especially when you consider the line outside Optus
Please Telstra…PLEASE

Friday, July 11, 2008 at 1:54 AMAs Public Enemy say “Don’t believe the hype!”
Sure it’s a good product but we have all been severely rogered up the jacksy.
Telstra are pathetic. Their “launch” says it all.
I want this phone but I am just not prepared to pay for such poor service.
I am starting to hate Apple just a little bit.

Friday, July 11, 2008 at 10:16 AMCanberra line very tame. I arrive a bit before 7:00am, was 15th in line. Telstra network was down – all contract paperwork had to be completed by hand, and they are unable to update 3G sim cards

Friday, July 11, 2008 at 2:27 PMWalked past both the Apple Store & T Life in Sydney during lunch time. T Life was busy with a queue of customers lined up inside the store.
Apple store was packed and what was really telling, they had 3 queues once inside the store – Vodaphone, Telstra & Optus. The Optus queue had 3 times more people than Vodaphone. Poor Telstra had only an occassional person in the queue. Guess who has the worst plans?
