Touching the screen lots also depletes battery life rapidly on the iPhone... so if you want to keep it going as long as possible before the next charge, it's best to try and avoid doing things like updating all your contacts or writing epic notes... or playing around with the interface and settings too much. I also turn the brightness down to almost-off if I have a long journey ahead with nowhere to charge en route.

Lithium batteries do not suffer from memory effect and should not be depleted before recharging. They should be recharged as often as possible to prolong their cycle life. They should, however, be depleted at least once a month before recharging to reset the battery gauge, which would become increasingly inaccurate if this is not done.

In step 10, short charging times, like a few minutes will wear out your iphone battery quicker. All rechargeable batteries wear out eventually eg.A brand new iphone battery will let you watch 5 hours of video, a 1 year old iphone battery might let you get 4 hours of video. Since you cant change the battery on your iphone, it is best to deplete your battery charge and then charge to full. This will maintain a healthy battery for much longer than if you are to multiple short charges.
