Faucet Fountain Eliminates Paper Bathroom Cups, Recreates Grade School
Posted by Jack Loftus at 5:30 AM on July 28, 2008
For only US$4, I can see little reason not to get this ingenious little Faucet Fountain attachment for the sink. It eliminates waste (no more paper cups in the bathroom), it saves you from having to wash extra cups in the kitchen, and it recreates those grade school gym class memories all in one. Plus, when not in use, the bottom pops out and allows the faucet to work normally.

Little known fact about cetaceans: If you drill a hole in their back and insert a water source, water will generally come streaming out of their mouths. If their mouth is held shut, however, it will come out of their blow hole.
The more you know!

I had something like this for a very long time. It was awesome. :D
Now I wouldn't, but that's just because I live somewhere that has rather questionable tap water.

We had one of these a while ago too. It was in the bathroom and the only use it got was from my wife's cat. The damn thing had to have "fresh" water out of the tap. Leaving water out in a dish just wouldn't do. So of course you had to turn it on...wait...and turn it off when the cat was done.
I know this has nothing to do with tech or gadgets, but I'm glad I got that off my chest...oh, the cat is long dead.

Mmmmm, tap water from a whale's orifice!
Seriously though, if you've seen it, just move on. no need to make a comment showing your omniscience because you knew about the 'whale spouter' or whatever it is, however long ago. Some things are still new to people, whether you've seen them or not. If you don't believe me, look up '2 girls, one cup'.

Gadget? No. New? No. Exciting? No. Newsworthy? No.

Looks like you'll just have to use the sink now.

this is soooo stupid. Cups are already stupid. People can't use their hands to put water in the mouth?

When I was a kid I had a friend with one of these in their bathroom. Just that one 2ยข piece of plastic made the whole world seem a little more clever.
I could probably use one now, 20 years later, because when I drink from the bathroom sink I don't use cups or my hands-I stick my whole head in the sink. hmm...

They are pretty amazing.
I used to have a few of them when I was little. About 10 years ago. They are handy.
Wish I still had at least one of them.

I had something like this years ago in my last house. We forgot to take it when we moved it was pressure fit not a screw on. One thing you'll learn real quick is to make sure you don't have the water on full unless you want to blast your walls

To all the poo-pooers in the comments: who cares whether it's new or 10 years old? This is a sweet little gadget and I'm glad Giz posted about it even though I already knew about it.

Fantastic. I haven't seen this before, and I am quite the coinsure of gadgets.
I like knowing that I havn't seen every gadget out there, despite my age.
I also like knowing that those that point out that this is old, not news worthy, or a gadget can't read my mind via the Internet.

lol. anyone who calls out your mistakes is a fanboy. thank you, unbiased lord of all truth for showing me the light. this little device is not, in fact, a gadget. not by any definition, including, but not limited to:
-noun
a mechanical contrivance or device; any ingenious article.
noun
a device or control that is very useful for a particular job
noun
a usually small tool, machine
nope. doesn't fit any of those descriptions at all.

The house I moved into in the 1970s had a faucet attachment on the bathroom sink. It was a small faucet that rotated into place on the side of the main faucet. The problem with it was that it still allowed water to come out of the main faucet - so it wasted a lot of water. I think it was built in the '50s, though.

I just have a filter hooked up to the faucet that sits next to the sink. Creates a similar fountain but with filtered water.
