Band Geek Hero Shirts Proclaim You King of the Keytar
Posted by Gizmodo US Edition at 2:30 AM on July 20, 2008
Guitarists may get all the chicks, but some of us loudly and proudly played less popular instruments and heck, we ought to get a chance to be a hero too! While I plead with Harmonix to include the noble Euphonium in their next music game, you other band geeks can show solidarity with your instrument of choice by wearing it on your shirt. Torsopants has a crazy collection of Guitar Hero parodies for almost every musical player out there. Banjo Hero? Kazoo Hero? Didgeridoo Hero? All yours for US$19 plus shipping. Well shite! OK, let me clarify this up.. if you go to torsopants.com and order through there, you'll have to sign up as a member to get the 25% off coupon. But if you just go right to bandgeekhero.com and use the coupon code BGH917348 code, you don't have to sign up as a member. There. Clarified.

Skip torsopants.com altogether and just go to [www.bandgeekhero.com] because that's where torsopants.com will send you.

It's cool that the text on the Bagpipe Hero shirt is actually plaid, but where's the Holophoner Hero shirt?
Actually, given how many of these have special text, backgrounds, or graphics, the bulk of these look pretty boring. It's like they got a bunch of them done and then got so bored with just putting in a new instrument/name that they started looking for ways to make them more interesting.

Yes! Euphonium Hero!!! We're so few these days, though I should add that I'm natively a trumpet player. Junior year of HS my director asked me to switch because the other Euph player left. Anyways, great idea on the shirts! I will definitely be looking into these as gifts.

I did a mock-up of "Cowbell Hero" here [www.technologytranslated.com]
I would also like to see a game where you play a saw with a bow. Anyone one know what that is called? Maybe a whole line-up of hick instruments, like jug hero, spoons hero, comb and tissue hero and such.
