Retromodo: Our Bill Gates CES 2008 Interview
Posted by Wilson Rothman at 12:42 AM on June 28, 2008
What's a Bill Gates sendoff without this January's CES video interview with the man? That there's the full 20 minutes--digitally remastered and with all of my awkward stuttering intact. If you just want to re-live the juiciest bits, including the famous "What Did Bill Just Say About Windows?" moment, you can pick and choose from the list:
Part 1 - On the difference between Microsoft and Apple
Part 2 - On his changing public image
Part 3 - What he worries about most
Part 4 - On Windows Vista maybe, just maybe, sucking

Not a whole lot of tough questions for Bill, huh?

A better question to ask rather than if he can sleep at night would be:
Given that companies' founders that are so closely tied to the ethos and operations of their companies in the past have failed after the departure of such leaders, does that worry you in anyway? Just think of Gateway, Dell, Schwab, Apple to name a few where the founders had to come rushing back to try to rescue their companies years after their departures. Do you think Ballmer is as good as you?

@Joseph: Retro means older for us. In blogs, 2 weeks is equivalent to 6 months. That make sense to you jojo?

Why do I keep getting javascript error about tinyMCE everytime I try to post? I think there's also a problem with cookies remembering my login.

Gates has had more free publicity everywhere from announcing that he will retire, but not really, but I'm still going to have a cubicle, but I am still the largest shareholder etc... Thank any Microsoft release. It's Barbra Steisand's last concert tour.... Over and over again.....
