Remote Control Docking Station Defies All Description, Taste
Posted by Gizmodo US Edition at 7:54 PM on June 25, 2008
According to the seller, the Remote Buddy "stylish vertical remote holder has four seats to store your most used remotes in one convenient location. Also has a handy cup holder for one drink." It also has four buttons to locate lost remotes (although sadly no buttons to locate lost drinks), as well as many many other uses. Yes. That many.
• Crowning your 1:25 reproduction of the Statue of Liberty.
• Hold a poker hand.
• Neatly store four dildos and a lube bottle.
• Dock a shaker and four flasks with the ingredients for Perfect Manhattan cocktails.
Which as you can tell, is what I had with my cornflakes this morning. Really, for US$59.98, this product is a bargain. [Taylor Gifts via Random Good Stuff]

My Kameleon remote wouldn't fit into this.

Thank you, Sony. Your decision to make the PS3 Bluetooth only is why drek like this is still necessary.

It's like the United Nations of Remotes...
...Or the Legion of Doom. The Sony DVD remote is Lex Luthor, the Scientific Atlanta DVR remote is Solomon Grundy, and the Phillips remote is Cheetah.

@Kaiser-Machead's Chips Ahoy!: Oh man that's awesome. (Use Ted Knight's voice in your head for maximum coolness!)

One remote is plenty, but I'll take four drinks.

@OMG! Ponies!: Nyko makes a $20 remote that comes with an IR adapter for the PS3. Just ditch the remote and plug in the adapter and use a universal remote with it (I use a harmony). Problem solved.

@Player4: I Agree i rock the Nyko bluwave IR adapter with my Harmony One .. But of course it does not turn the PS3 on or off , so you still need to get off your a$$ to turn it on, or leave it one all day and melt whatever is next to it and use like $15 of electric to power it all day
Silly Sony

This all works awesome until you accidentally knock over the drink and spill the contents onto your remotes.

@jonthomasdesigns: Well if I'm using my PS3, it's usually to watch a movie or play a game. If it's for a movie, I have to go up to the PS3 to put the movie in anyways, so no big deal. If it's a game, I'm going to use the controller, which turns it on, so no big deal there either.
I don't use my harmony to power on/off any of my consoles anyway, so it doesn't bother me. The reason being, if I want to jump between watching cable/playing a game/checking if anyone's online yet, my console doesn't switch off every time I choose a new activity from the harmony.
