Our iPhone 2.0 Wishlist
Sometimes reading rumours about the second iPhone is exactly like reading a wishlist of features people want. Whether it’s subconscious or not, the rumours do get us thinking about what we want from a 3G iPhone. In short, we want an iPhone done right. Here’s what we want to make the 3G iPhone faster, better and stronger.

32Gb will be great if Apple actually allows users to natively use the thing as a storage device…
go giz AU put the Yanks in there place
• Faster Network (3G). Definitely.
• Cheaper. Sure, why not?
• Unlockable and Jailbreakable. I’m sure many people would like this.
• Better Battery. As long as it doesn’t run out while I’m trying to use it, I’m happy.
• GPS. Could come in handy.
• Improved camera. Don’t really care. Thats what I have a real camera for.
• Front facing video camera. Not needed. My current phone (Samsung A501) has a rotatable camera – it never faces me, and I’ve never made a video call.
• MMS and video recording. MMS seems more like a gimmic than a useful tech to me.
• Flush headphone jack. Never had a problem with the one on my Touch. No idea if the iPhone is any different.
• More storage. 8GB has suited me fine for Touchness. I doubt I’d need more in a phone.
• Cut, Copy and Paste. Yep. Sure want that one.
• Automatic 3G Management. How about auto switch from 3G to Wifi? Does the current gen already do that?
• Stereo Bluetooth streaming. I doubt I’d need that.
• Over the Air Sync. Might come in handy, but a cable is just fine for me.
• Better Reception and Voice Quality. I’d go that.
• A CDMA iPhone For Sprint and Verizon. Useless in Australia.
Now for my one addition:
• Text search in Safari. So many times I’ve been surfing on my Touch and needed to search for text on a webpage – wheres that function?
The main thing I waiting to see it supporting Adobe Flash,
fingers crossed
I don’t see Flash coming to the iPhone any time soon, nor do I want it – Flash Banner ads I can live without thanks – H264 is fine for video. Flash is a resource hog and has a habit of crashing randomly – not something I want my phone to do.
notes and to do Syncing with iCal.
