I'll do it for him/her:
American mobile users seem to know nothing about how powerful the S60 is outside the United States. Go listen to The Cellphone Junkie by Steve Linchfield(episode 106) for an overview.
Yet the seem to have the loudest voices on then net. (I have know idea what to do with this clause)
RESEARCH BEFORE MAKING STATEMENTS
The iPhone is made by an American company and has a lot of flaws in spite of a great UI and a great design.
As we all know, American companies, as opposed to ordinary people, love to shove shit down our throats and try to convince us to believe their products are the best things for us.
The cellphone market is different to the PMP market. It's too diverse for one company to rule and this is the reason why Nokia owns 60% of the market - because it tries to provide to everybody, from young school girls to grannies.
Here is food for thought: If the iPhone was made by Nokia, would American owned blogs such as Gizmodo and Engagdet - or other technology journalists and podcasters for that matter - care so much?
Please think before you respond.

@The Full English Please!!: since we live IN the United States, why would we care about how powerful a phone is outside? also, what negative is there in the iPhone? i know its not perfect, but what other is better than that?
and yes, they would care, because its the iPhone made by apple.

Pfft, iFanboys... Why not work on something for android? I'm sure you could get it running on the iPhone. Not that it's really all that great of a phone.

Real creative iPhone software. Not dumb cheap ports. Cool and innovative. New games. Stuff that we haven't seen on 10 platforms like super Monkey Ball, Spores or Enigmo. There has to be better stuff out there. The iPhone killer game. Uses graphics, touch, motion and is beautiful. Not trying to cram a Wii into an iPhone! Something new and great!

@altus: I'm sure they'll be a lot of cool things coming down the pipe. Remember people are still fumbling trying to learn/deal with/understand how to fully take advantage of 3 Axis, GPS, and multi-touch. Until recently, only major corporations had access to this type of technology. I'm sure you'll see some new creative Apps you like.

Hmmm. I've been thinking about this one for a while, and I think that people are being stupid about this. Everyone has their own opinions about what is cool and what isn't, and most of our opinions are different. So...why make such a huge fucking deal about the fact that some people like iPhones and some people would rather have a BlackBerry or a Nokia something-or-other? It's silly.
