Emotion Mask Brings Kekekekeke To Life
Posted by Jason Chen at 7:30 AM on June 7, 2008
This "Mask of Emotion" was made at the Hongik University in Korea, which explains why their emoticons are very Asian, as opposed to the more :'( style us westerners use. It's supposed to be hide your personal emotion while displaying whatever one you choose, which is limited to happy, kinda happy, very happy, sad, another kind of sad, and angry. Don't expect to see anyone wearing this on the street unless you're roaming the streets of Hongik University. [Mask of Emotion via Make]

This is so stupid. How are you supposed to see out? Or do you just wear one to pose for pictures?

@92BuickLeSabre: That was impressive how the 2nd time around I not only spelled "write" as "right" but abandoned my hesitation. Apparently, the more wrong I am, the more confident I become.

It'd be great to rob a bank in one of those. The face in the third panel would be just perfect for it.

Where humor is concerned there are no standards - no one can say what is good or bad, although you can be sure that everyone will.

No idea, but if the bubbles are part of the product, then I am sold.
@strider_mt2k: Okay, I didn't want to, but I laughed. Not certain what that says about me.

hm from top to bottom left to right:
| _ | face is saying : "hm? what's that?"
^_^ is saying : "ah ha ha~"
uhh the slanty angry one is saying: "aish! (which is something like damnit) why are you hitting (me)?"
the one next to that one is saying : "ho ho", which means it's laughing i guess
-_- says : "hm. thinking time" or something like "i'm thinking right now"
the one next to that says: "ah, why did i do that?"
and the last one, as stated above, translates into a crying noise.
i knew my korean would come in handy someday. even though i wouldn't be able to survive alone back in the motherland.

I really can't stand when people use the term keke. It reminds me of some toothless ghetto and/or marsh dweller type and their dongs.

and this comes from a Japanese guy? hehe
Personally I always prefer the Asian style of emotions rather than the ugly IM chat style

Incorporate it into a motorcycle helmet.

i predict that 3 or 4 generations from now, people will be so withdrawn that we require these (and possibly holographic 'word bubbles')to be able to read and interact with other people..
i cant wait.
