Boost Drops the Motorola i335 Off a Building, Runs it Over With a Car for Your Amusement
The Motorola i335 is coming to Boost Mobile, and it's a tough little phone. To demonstrate, Boost dropped the thing off a building, ran over it with a car and gave it to a bunch of idiotic klutzes who tried to talk on the phone while skateboarding and other such activities. So if you're the kind of person who just can't manage to hold onto things without dropping them, this is the phone for you. If you have decent control over your body, perhaps other features will be more important to you. Different strokes for different folks, right? The i335 is available now for US$60 from Boost. Dumb phone...
Usually if you're older than 15 and have nice things you don't treat it like s#it and take a little more responsibility in caring for it.
The chances of me breaking my phone and/or wrecking my car have increased exponentially today just for saying that

I'm tired of unbreakable phones. I've had a G'zOne type S for nearly a year and I'm sick of it. I need some features.

They drove Mini over it. That weighs like only 5 Ounces.

Disclaimer: Most MINI drivers are not stupid enough to run over their cell phones.
And wouldn't it be more impressive to get run over by an 8000 pound hummer than a scooter and a MINI?

Shit! ... I had it backwards.
I thought Motorola's cell business was solid but their phones broke!

Yawn. My LG Voyager has already done most of that stuff, AND it has a keyboard on the inside. I've honestly tried to break it. Not only that, but when it's in my pocket it looks like I'm packing some serious heat. Love it.

I'm sure I can break this baby. Somehow, I'd find a way. Like hitting a diamond in just the right spot.

I've got the old i415 through Boost. I've been joked on, people say it looks like I brought in a cordless phone from home. And yeah, the bandwidth for data is crap. And yeah, when someone enters the wrong PTT number on their end and my phone goes "CHIRPA-CHIRPA LARRY?! LARRY?!?!?! CAN YOU HEAR ME?!!? ARE YOU THERE?!?!" I get a little pissed. And the default ringtones? "Where you at?" and a remixed police siren beat? WTF. Talk about offensive racial profiling of your target audience.
But honestly though, I've beaten the everliving shiat out of this thing over the past couple years, and it still works great. The only way I would part with it would be if I could move to another, better looking Moto candybar that has the same durability.
Plus, it's fun to screw with the accidental PTT'ers with a recording of a smoke alarm at 3am.

@einstoch: Isn't this the same phone they showed on Fox News I think it was? Were the guy said this is the unbreakable phone and when he threw it broke where the battery goes and the battery came out flying? Everyone was laughing when that happened.

Just don't drop it in a puddle.. if its supposed to be so rugged why didn't they make it waterproof?

It's one of those PTT (iDEN) phones - given how it's mostly used by construction workers and the like, they're made tough on purpose...

I left my old Motorola StarTac phone in its plastic holster thing on the roof of my car and drove off. It fell off and a Mack dump truck ran over it. The only damage were some sratches on the holster.

@Worf: True, it's actually required on most sites in the big cities.
i lose and break my stuff all the time. i blame it on booze, and booze blames it on me, but we still get along.
i will never go back to nextel. ever.

I thought the commercial was really well put together until... the end. Boost's mental "WHERE YOU AT?!" ruined the moment. That and the guy stealing her cellphone.

Now they just need to work on making hair dryer proof SIM cards.
I kid you not I spoke to two customers who had melted their SIM cards with a blow dryer. (I no longer work for Boost)
I worked with a woman who drove over her i450 with a dump truck and it survived.
If only they could make the phones function well, then it would be even with the outside.
