Well, actually it's referring to Cisco's Unified Communications technology, Telepresence in particular. If you ever have the chance to see a telepresence meeting, I highly recommend it. It's video chat done right - perfectly - with lag time less than 200 milliseconds, 1080p, surround sound... it's almost creepy how it feels, but it's past the uncanny valley to where it just feels natural to talk to people through it.

Yes, it being a little girl selling cookies is a little ridiculous as this technology is out of almost everyone's reach, and little girls + web chats = jail time, but it's illustrating how UC is a viable alternative to travel, particularly for salespeople.

End rant.

@zimzombie: Um, ya... I'm pretty sure most, if not all, of us know that. But it's Saturday and we decided to have fun instead. I mean really... It's pointed out as a 'Bad Tech Ad', not a new product to drool over. We responded accordingly, which is much better than responding with an accordion.

@zimzombie: You were close. WebEx technology, not Telepresence. WebEx is what provides the online meeting, collaboration, video conferencing. Telepresence involves specialized displays, cameras, audio equipment and a few other things necessary for face-to-face type of communication from a distance. The big deal with Tele is that you can read body language, watch eye movements, and in larger installations the people appear to be sitting around a table together.
