The iPhone 3G FAQ

Steve Jobs may have launched the iPhone 3G on Monday, and we may have gotten a hands on with it already, but in typical Apple fashion, there’s still a lot of stuff left unsaid. How does activation work? How will first-gen iPhone users bring an iPhone 3G onto their plan? Does the GPS work for driving? How much will games cost on the App Store? We’ve got answers. Lots of them.

    Hi.

Great to hear about the long awaited iPhone 3G. But what about the iTouch? I have been hanging on to buy one. Is it still going to be worth $629au when the iPhone will be half it’s original price???
Will we see a reduced price iTouch before July 11???? I can’t see anyone buying one at that price, or am I missing something!!!

I am in Australia and have an original iphone that we purchased in Hong Kong. We downloaded the new 2.0 software and were told we need a 3G Sim which we have, but it still doesn’t recognise it. Do I now have a really expensive paper weight? Apple Australia has referred us to America and our carrier has even less of a clue!

Well, re the front cam thing. I must say that I recently was on a train in the UK and saw someone with an iphone… been thinking of getting one so i looked at the person using it. I noticed very clear that on the top right there was a clearly defined circle, and another smaller one just below this. It wasn’t a case or anything like that. Does anyone think it could be possible that apple will release a new model in a different part of the world as a kind of test? Odd… makes me feel like holding of buying one just in case this update is just round the corner.
