I remember when Panasonic demoed their 103" plasma at Nebraska Furniture Mart. We had to use a forklift to move the damn thing around, it needed a 220 volt outlet, cost $70,000...and had no tuner.
But we threw in the $5,000 wall mount for free. So thats good.
Honestly...why wouldn't you just get a sweet projector set up? This thing consumes more power than a small country, doesn't have a very good contrast ratio, and if thats not bad enough, its a Sharp.

@daftrok:
They always say "ultra quiet fan" when they sell these, yeah sure - they´re like acceptable the first 10 hours - and then it will sound like an airport after that, and you´d want to toss that fancy projector out when trying to watch movies and actually enjoying them too....
Take that from a guy who had several projectors, also from Sony. And the HEAT they develop - they can increase your room temperature by several degrees even with conditioning - try them in the summer time, argh!
No more projectors for me - Huge flat-screen TV here I come (came...actually...the Sony Bravia Full HD screens rocks).

I'd get it, but I think it's too power hungry.

I can't even afford the difference between the amount listed in the headline and the actual exchange value.

And now for something completely useless.
A top of the top of the line projector is what? $10,000? Call it $20,000 and you're still at only 20% of the price.
I'm not sure about even that TV production could use these--there seems to be a move during sporting events toward CGI signage. I watch a Phillies game and they have a billboard on the backstop that cycles through sponsors during the game.
I realize this is a bragging rights thing, but the car industry limits these sorts of things to concept cars.

@JoOngle:
btw... I agree with you about the Sony Bravia HDTV - Lucky Me! I bought one about a month ago but forgot to get one very important thing to go with it... a month-long well-leave!

You guys forget that a projector needs a dark room! This one most definitely does not. Not only that, but anyone can have a projector setup...where is the status in that?? To be truly elite you MUST own a flat panel bigger than your neighbor, cost be damned!
Seriously, I think these will sell well to the people who dont really have to work for a living. The rest of us mere mortals will have to do with our measly 52" sets for a while longer!

Eeew! Even though it's 1080p, just how huge are the pixels on this thing? You'd probably have to sit well over 10 feet away just to not notice them.
