I travel to the states about once a fortnight and end up purchasing electronic items over the net for family & friends. I am constantly equal parts amazed & appalled at the amount of wasteful packaging.
It really doesn’t surprise me anymore.
The icing on the cake is when the huge box for a tiny item is then filled with styrofoam popcorn – can it get any more environmentally destructive than that….?

there is a thing called protocol.also many companies have strict packaging guidelines.perhaps that padded mailer they used to use got damaged in transit one too many times… or then again maybe the warehouse team is just lazy and uses whatever box is close at hand
