Not sure if people remember, but last year Nvidia released some great new control panel drivers that basically rendered administrative tools and control panel features useless (as in overwrote certain .cpl files etc). Not until I did my third reinstall of Vista did I figure out that each time I installed the nvidia drivers that it was causing the problem.

Obviously a lawsuit followed as many thousands of people were affected.

I could not agree more. I was having a lot of crashes with nvidia when gaming and playback issues on my Media Center running Vista. I am currently using a driver that I got from the net (not nvidia's site!) 174.51. I have found this to be the most stable driver for my 8600 GTS card.
