Notes: F*ck China and Anything Made There

8:02PM March 24, 2008 | Brian Lam

It’s not my beat at all, and I never went to any Free Tibet concerts for either the hipness or the music or the politics, but this BS that China is pulling over Tibet is starting to bother me. Now there’s this strange tale of Tibetans rioting with zero backlash from the Chinese, and I’m getting an even worse feeling. It could be a PR move, but maybe they’re just taking their time to roll in some tanks and the lull is a feint.

I’m not sure what I can do to change a goddamn thing — maybe some of you can help me figure that out — but as a purveyor and filter of consumer crap, I’ll own up to my piece of the protest and make the simple declaration that I’m going to avoid buying any electronics made in China for the foreseeable future. (READ: PRETTY MUCH ALL.) I’ve been getting my updates via the NYTimes and Boingboing, FWIW.

A new perspective: China didn’t invade Tibet; It was a civil war (over Slavery). Mass killing of Tibetan, but in a War between the new government and the Serf Master’s troop. There were very little to backup “Invasion” and “Sovereign Country Tibet”. But huge amount of resource from all over of world to conclude it is more of a ‘civil’ if dig a bit further at all…

The Chinese intentionally torture 20 million dogs a year (so that they can produce “fragrant meat,” which is what the Han call it). You really think they care what happens to innocent people in Tibet, Darfur, Burma, Zimbabwe or anywhere else (the Chinese arms-shipments and despot-aid enable these tragic situations to persist)?

The single biggest profit-margins for a poor farmer come from buying St.Bernard’s, what the Han call “big dumb dog,” and breeding them with local dogs to achieve the biggest and most docile litters.

In every town square– except Beijing for the week of August 8th 2008– local Han Chinese casually walk past the sight of dogs being hung from hooks, while their fur is peeled off their trembling and crying bodies. On their way to work or school, local men, women and children look the other way and, therefore, commit what James 4:17 refers to as the “sin of omission.”

They could easily just cut the dogs throats, like compassion-gene-possessing butchers in the West. But the Chinese want adrenaline released in “man’s best friend,” so boiling them alive is just not enough (apparently).

You see, without people hitting the dog with bats or literally pulling off their legs– as they writhe skinless from the hooks– these poor animals just wouldn’t experience enough abject terror and betrayal (for the Han Chinese, apparently).

Due to that stupid word “culture,” we can’t tell the Chinese to stop eating dogs or explain the thousands of reasons why we owe dogs a special debt (since the earliest caveman days, when the bark of a dog waking you up could spell the difference between life & death).

But hey, to improve the nation’s image in the past year, thousands upon thousands of healthy “pet dogs” were surrendered to ill-trained Communist Party cadres (in what was called a “rabies-prevention” scheme). It may have been over 100,000 Chinese dogs that were lucky enough to have owners and homes. But every one of them was beaten about the head with metal two-by-fours, in front of the very homes they guarded and lived in (during the past 2 years, according to many reputable newspapers like the New York Times).

So, its not just the thousands of dogs that were sickened and/or killed due to Propelyn Glycol being added to appear like protein (in Chinese-made dog food).

The entire country is continuing this savage barbarism and no one seems to even care. We Americans owe 24% of our debt to China, so even if we had a legitimately-elected President it wouldn’t change things.

But don’t take my word for it, research it yourself. Then, spread the word and don’t be cowed by the reflexively-nationalistic, pablum-puking defenders of this practice (who’ve learned just enough about political-correctness to throw the word “racist” at you).

Moral-correctness, ethical-standards, humanity and compassion? Not so much.

But “fragrant meat,” that is sure to restore your vitality? Apparently, its all too easy to consume.

What goes around comes around, though (and “the reckoning” is just around the corner, folks).

I sent a comment on the China topic on July 11th 2008. Will it get posted?
