HTC’s QWERTY sliders like the Sprint Mogul or AT&T Tilt may work great as a text entry device, but dialing on the touchscreen or even the keyboard sucks a big one. Their latest patent shows a device that combines the texting convenience of a QWERTY keyboard but keeps a dialpad in as well, without having to have extra thickness like the Helio Ocean.
MacLife.de says Nike’s SportBand, an armband that connects to the Nike+ running device, might be finally coming to retail some time in April 2008. The armband will still be wireless and still require you to shove a Nike+ kit into your shoe in order to track how fast/far you run, but you won’t have to carry an iPod Nano on you, which lowers the chance of muggings (but raises the chance of being bored while running). IOGEAR’s Germless Portable Laser Mouse isn’t quite so germless after all, which is why the US Environmental Protection Agency levied a fine of US$208,000 on the company for “unsubstantiated public health claims regarding unregistered products, and their ability to control germs and pathogens.” In other words, these things aren’t killing any germs, and you probably shouldn’t be buying them in hopes that they will. Crystal Icing is back with two more additions to their Swarovski encrusted Wii range. They previously bought us the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess edition, which looked remarkable. Well, they are obviously onto a winning formula; just checkout the new Super Smash Bros Brawl inspired Wii / Swarovski overkill artworks. Sure, they are excessive, but we have always wanted to see what Bowser looked like when he’s all blinged out by 20,000 crystals.
