Its not a rocket, its an athodyd (ramjet engine); it needs air to work. Not that being an athodyd makes it any less “interesting”…

The only operational V1 engine I’ve ever seen is the one SRL runs. The flame exhaust is more of a white flickering flame about 3 ft long. SRL’s V1 uses a V8 gasoline engine to run a compressor front end that feeds the pulsejet reed-valve plate which in the real V1 rocket would be a ram air intake.
