Brando Finger Mouse as Useful as Superman Without Flying Abilities
Posted by Haroon Malik at 10:31 PM on February 22, 2008
On restless nights you may have found yourself asking the question, "Why isn't there a finger-mounted, wireless mouse?" Well, put your woes aside, as the loonies great chaps at Brando were thinking the same thing, hence the Wireless Finger Mouse. As you may have guessed, the mouse is finger mounted, specifically to your index digit, while the click buttons are operated by your neighbouring thumb. Sure, it will function on any surface, but you will require the Hulk's muscular hand to be able to carry the hefty device further than 2-inches in any direction.
The Finger Mouse operates using 2.4GHz (RF) wireless connection, is compatible with Windows only and also comes supplied with a USB alternative connection, which makes it even more pointless. Quite frankly, the Finger Mouse is more ridiculous than Superman walking somewhere really, really far, but how can we hate Brando? There we were thinking they couldn't possibly top the Ping-Pong webcam—boy, they sure did show us. [Brando]

And how exactly are you supposed to type properly with this thing on?

Why would I voluntarily put this on?

Actually, Superman without flying abilities is still pretty damn useful. What's the use of flying anyway? He's got super-speed and a dozen other superpowers.
But I digress... This might be useful for persons with very specific needs or disabilities, but I don't see any true leap over standard and current input devices.
And it's neither as tedious OR cool as the Minority Report interface.

I like it. I get annoyed when I have to move a hand from the keyboard to the mouse and back (yes, I'm that lazy). Not everything is set up to correctly navigate using the tab key, and this would be great if it actually works. Sadly, I think it's a great idea with poor execution.

@Fierock:
really.
From the headline + pic I'm disappointed it's not some new-fangled sextoy.

Maybe the reviewer is thinking inside the box. Imagine the frags you could get if this thing were mounted to a toy mp5 while playing Call Of Duty 4.

@mydogisdexter:
Keyboard only FTW! :D
I could (and have when one stopped working) spend a whole day without my mouse, without a keyboard I can't even log in :D

At one point when I was using Windows 95 my cheap mouse broke down. I used keyboard only for the next year.
Then I bought a new mouse and was annoyed by it. I use keyboard shortcuts most of the time still, web is the largest exception. Hitting tab a few hundred times is a little time consuming.
