US$0.99 Pick-O’-the-Week Comes To iTunes Rental Store
The iTunes rental store now offers weekend specials, just like your local RST Video. Thursday through Monday each week, one movie will rent for US$0.99, or US$3 less than usual. If we keep heading down this path, the next update of iTunes will bring streaming video of a crushtached geek who snickers at you when you bring You’ve Got Mail to the checkout. This week’s special is The Hours.

Fellow aussies, here’s a friendly tip.
If you want to be able to buy and stream you movies legally from the US store, just buy iTunes US gift cards off eBay – they get emailed to you within 24 hours (usually) and it lets you set up a US store account (no, you don’t need a US credit card or address for this).
Ok so you pay a bit more for them but it probably ends up costing you the same as they will eventually charge in $A. The upside is you a) get access to it now and b) get access to the US movie library which is 1-2 months ahead of ours. There aren’t a HUGE selection of movies to chose from yet but more are being added all the time.
Personally, i’m picking up my ATV next week…
