The Pitch: An attachable lens for the iPhone and various other camera phones (the likes of which we've seen before) that adds either 8x optical zoom or wide-angle. Evidence after the jump.
The Verdict: The wide-angle lens adds a few more degrees on the shot, but the zoom lens really does give a decent zoom on your camera. Unfortunately, there was no test unit compatible with the iPhone.

@EnochLight: Camera phones are all notoriously shit. The iPhone seems to perform at the same level as most I've tried (at least those with comparable MP ratings).
Thing is, for the rest of the sweet hardware you'd hope Apple would make it more of a stand-out feature. iPhone 2.0 really should (in my ultimately worthless opinion) rock a 3-4MP device with some decent software (video, anyone?).
Why I'm at it - why not a zoom? I'm sure Apple's suppliers and Ives can cram some sort of optical zoom flush into the case.

It's a cellphone camera. It's for the "oh shit i need a camera" moments. Digital cams are at the point you can stick one in your pocket and always have it on you. Cellphone cams are for when you forget a real camera.
Didn't have a camera on me so these are the iphone shots which still convey the subject of the photo. And thats fine with me.

While usually not practical, these kinds of things are really cool considering they add additional optics and effects to stuff that wasn't really designed for 'em.

Regardless of MP, the iPhone's camera is one of the worst camera phones out there. If it wasn't for the coolness of the touchscreen (and the fact that it's large), it would be pitifully useless. Wait, it already is pitifully useless in low light or with any movement what so ever. Apple are you listening? Please fix your craptastic attempt at a camera on iPhone 2.0...

Cool!!! Except the Iphone's camera is only 1.3mp anyways. This seems like it would be better suited for the N95 (5 MP), or something like my phone (the AT&T Tilt, 3MP). I'm wondering if I should get this, but I don't want to spend more than $20.
