Electric Mini Shoe City Complete With Godzilla...What?
Posted by Sean Fallon at 12:24 PM on January 18, 2008
Japanese footwear company Onitsuka Tiger is getting a major promotional boost thanks to this 1 metre long illuminated shoe developed by the folks at Freedom of Creation. The work is intended to "communicate Onitsuka Tiger's Japanese roots" in the form of a highly detailed city-shoe. It has everything from billboards to buildings —and if you will notice, the Onitsuka Tiger stripes represent streets and highways and a Godzilla-like monster looms over the city.
Freedom of Creation has also developed smaller versions of the shoe to be placed in Onitsuka Tiger stores worldwide. They have even gone so far as to develop USB stick and key ring versions to spread the product awareness even further. Now that's what I call marketing! Not exactly. Onitsuka Tiger was the original name for Asics. Phil Knight partnered with Bill Bowerman and imported Tigers (which were Adidas running knock-offs) in the USA. Now Onitsuka Tiger is the brand name under which Asics makes high-end fashion shoes for sneaker freaks.

Onitsuka Tiger is the company Phil Knight partnered with back when he created Blue Ribbon Sports. You might have heard of them, under their newer name Nike. I'm surprised Tiger still exists.

ok I think I want these badly, what a conversation starter-"Where'd you get those god awful shoes"?
Or better yet, in umm ok the old days, can you imagine tripping and waving your foot around in the air? This would give pink elephants a run for their money
