Cubic 4-Port Hub, USB Goes All Trendy Transformers
Posted by Mark Wilson at 1:31 AM on January 19, 2008
You could buy an ordinary 4-port USB hub and continue on your path to be a common, somewhat unremarkable human being. OR, you could buy this cubic 4-port hub and change your path to be a common, unremarkable human being who owns the most stylish USB device on the block. Your fate, your decision. But you'll never find a $US11.99 product again that can alter your status so quickly in both the geek world and the general Order of Things. [product via geekalerts]

They should make it rotate with little USB lights in it when its not in use :)

Is this going to show up in Michael Bay's next flick? If it appears in a scene with Megan Fox, I will buy one.

Does it come in Bumblebee-Yellow?

That would be excellent, if it rotated. I wish more computer gadgets were artsy and whimsical like that.

I have one, it's absolute rubbish. The plastic hinges are cheap and bind up constantly (similar to your old Transformers toys). In addition, the USB connections are so loose with any cord that you're frequently loosing your device.
Nice design, crap build quality.

And I don't suppose it does the transforming sound, does it?
What about opening the gates of hell?

Maybe I'm being picky but I think it'd be nice if each "arm" twisted, ya know? So you could have it vertical or at an angle. And for $11.99 you could get a Power Squid, which is equally geektastic, IMO!
(I'd get this in a heartbeat if it came in a more normal color, like black or grey, or even dark blue. I know I'm boring, but it would be nice if it matched or at least blended well with my system color scheme at least to some extent...) Looks like a kids toy with those colors.

@Bokusatsu_Tenshi:
Gah! beat me to it.
Any chance that it will fire a giant "laser"?
