Terminator Salvation Just Might Not Suck

I can’t know for sure without actually seeing the film, but I do have a good feeling about it, having flown to New Mexico a few months back to explore various hot, dusty sets and meet cast and crew. The three themes I heard over and over during my set visit were “Batman,” “Macs,” and “T3 sucked.” It was like attending some strange but beautiful techno-mass that was worshipping Gizmodo’s own holy trinity. “In the same way Warner Bros. took Batman and really turned the franchise on its head and made it really dark and really cool, we’re going through the same whirl with our Terminators,” production designer Martin Laing explained to us in front of a wall of concept art. 2:58PM Nick Broughall | Leigh Stark over at APC was cynical about the new album on a USB-stick DDA technology we saw last week. Hell, so was I. But Leigh decided to try and check it out anyway, except for the fact that he couldn’t find them anywhere… That’s right, either we were both wrong and the whole “album on a USB stick” concept is proving massively popular beyond anyone’s wildest expectations, or (more likely) nobody cares and the whole thing was more PR than an actual product release. Considering Leigh actually asked in store at some of the biggest music shops (that were supposed to have them) and got funny looks, it’s not looking too promising for the new format. But Leigh decided to try and check it out anyway, except for the fact that he couldn’t find them anywhere… That’s right, either we were both wrong and the whole “album on a USB stick” concept is proving massively popular beyond anyone’s wildest expectations, or (more likely) nobody cares and the whole thing was more PR than an actual product release.
