Pizza Box PC Mod Arbitrarily Wins 2007
Posted by Mark Wilson at 1:08 AM on December 21, 2007
A modder has officially combined a pizza box and a PC. It's like a stereotype incarnate and it smells delicious. We just wish that the disc tray were modified to eject a steaming slice of pie. Oh, and it'd be OK if cheese got stuck somewhere in the middle, stretching and wrapping around the optical bay. In fact, a little laser-singed cheese sounds absolutely decadent. Here's a picture of what comes inside the box.
Of course, I think I speak for us all when I say, seriously man, Little Caesar's? [techeblog]

Thats awesome! I would have done that, but the cheap Dell 1U servers we had would have overheated. Plus I don't think the pizza tastes very good after sharing the box with a PC.

Just buy a PowerMac 61xx or Performa 61xx and you'd have NO ADDITIONAL WORK to do.

For $5, it's not bad pizza. It's not great, but I've had much worse.

what a crappy mod. Seeing as there are no slots used. I assume that everything is 'on-board' video, 10/100 and sound.. Sorry for the person that would actually use that PC. And the HD just sitting on the slots cant be good. But then again, it is probably a really slow RPM drive to begin with. And they could have atleast taped the cutout portion of the box on the front of the CD drive.. sheesh.. what a waste.

That's a pretty sad mod. I'm going to take a dump on my already star-trek themed laptop and call it "The Shatner Mod" and wait until it appears on the gadget blogs.

God, I want so badly to say "Not News" due to modders having done this decades ago (I guess I just did).
Doing a mod like this is a bad idea because you run into excess dust and heat. Also you run the potential of a static build up because the case we use ground out the motherboard.
He could have gotten a PSU that fit inside the box and then hinged the box at the front so the sliding CD Tray would push it open. That would've led to a nice "Pizza Box" look.

that actually counts as a mod?? it's just a bunch of parts thrown together in a friggin box w/ a hole cut out for the optical drive and psu. my setup is a bunch of parts sitting on my desk... i'll start calling that a "mod"
