Microsoft Leaves Comments Open on New YouTube Channel
Posted by Haroon Malik at 4:05 AM on December 31, 2007

Microsoft's PR department are attempting new and innovative ways to get Windows products to the masses. Their latest effort involves the launch of a YouTube channel with various promotional content. Unfortunately for Microsoft, their PR team decided to leave the comments open. Bad move.
The videos are sure to get your pulse slowing down in no time, but the comments the Microsoft haters have scrawled about the place shall give you all a mighty chuckle. The image above has some of the classics we found, but we are quite certain you guys are going to want to have your say. Microsoft fanboys and fangirls, take heed; this is your hour of worth—deflect the slander that taints Microsoft's YouTube channel thus...or join in, whichever makes you happiest. As long as you're happy, that's all that matter to us. [Microsoft YouTube Channel via TechCrunch]

Vista doesn't suck any more than Leopard. They both suck.
Bottom line is the PR departments of both companies. Seems as though the PR dept of Microsoft isn't too bright. No wonder apple is starting to dominate...just give them a few more years, they'll be number 1 if Microsoft doesn't turn around.
In the Mean time I'll be playing with Ubuntu!

Thats pretty funny it is a nice change because usually yuotube comments are made by 4-year old retards who make it impossible to understand them. I'm surprised the page isn't filled with "go to www.xxx.yyy for vista porn downloads! im a hot 18 year old who wants to strip for you!" reading you tube comments make me want to kill myself cause it's almost always retards, spammers, or those douchebags who say "poot dis coment on 5 mor vidoes an pres alt+F4 ti hav ur troo luves name apper on teh scren! trost my it warks IM TOTLY SRSLY" (spelling mistakes intentional if you didn't notice) though those people qualify as retards they are a different breed of retard who are complete assholes and in my opinion deserve to die. If you are one of these people then let me tell you that the entire internet HATES you and you are worthless piles of shit

Of course, the first computer I ever used was an IBM mainframe that ate punch cards, so maybe I have a different perspective on computer "progress."

Had apple done something like this it would have shown it is a community minded company that is open to it's user base.
However since it is microsoft it is a horrible idea, and should be critized both here and on it's channel- Shame on Microsoft for trying to do something different!

Vista is the first operating system ever designed, so far as I know, with the specific goal of limiting the owner of the machine.
Other operating systems provide security, and different levels of access -- but there's always a "root" or superuser method somewhere to get around it.
Not Vista. Vista=XP+DRM -- it is designed at its core to prevent you from copying media you do not own. In doing this, the complexity of the system is magnitudes higher and the likelihood that you will run into problems dealing with media you DO own all the rights to is very high.
All this, and of course Microsoft will ultimately be unsuccessful in true enforcement of the DRM as there is no way to update something as big as Vista quickly enough to keep ahead of the crackers out there.
In their attempt to be the golden-boy of the RIAA member companies, they've pissed off their market (personal computer USERS) and still failed to achieve the result of providing those RIAA members a truly "safe" platform.
On top of all that, its original goal was to have a full "database" organized file system (remember Longhorn?). They failed with that as well.
Vista is a nightmare of a bastard child offspring from XP and DRM; it will ultimately be bypassed as technology and products march forward. Years from now, it will be looked at like Windows ME.

Windows + R, type cmd
type ipconfig /all
The best solution for your network? Turn on WPA-TKIP or WPA-AES and forget about using MAC Address enforcement as it is a pain in the ass.

But until they make stuff (games) just as compatible with Macs etc as they are with PCs, i'll stick to XP. and no, i'm not talking about booting XP on a Mac. that is not an argument. you are then using XP. i'm terrible at expressing my thoughts

Requirements for running Vista: 1. immediately shut off UAC. 2. Shut down indexing in the services menu. Once you've done that, Vista really isn't bad. For all those that think XP is so fantastic, try setting up computer and printer shares behind firewalls, especially different brands of firewalls. That's a fun nightmare. Oh, and have fun dragging out that floppy drive so you can install ACHI drivers. Press F6 fast enough? Oh you gotta start over!

I am running vista, there really isn't anything wrong with it. Yes, there are some features your better off disabling or tweaking to suit your needs.
It just need a newer computer to run it, which i don't find that shocking. Its a new OS. If your happy with xp, keep it.
I had a system crash, and rebuilt my comp from scratch. My old xp cd had a crack in it. So when it came down to pay 200 for xp pro, or 250 for vista, i really couldn't see why not. I new my hardware could run it. So there was no real loss. It runs clean, and i boot in about 45 seconds with basic software.

@Webran61: @EU_dig: @israeli: It's an abbreviation (commonly used in Turkish, and the commenters name clearly suggests he is Turkish) of selamünaleyküm, which is essentially 'hello' in Arabic, and in Turkish the word 'selam' is used for 'hello' as well as 'regards' in formal language. Other than that, this is an obvious example of the inability of many of my countrymen failing at life. And just imagine, we conquered the Byzantine empire and were the largest single country in Europe at one point (Ottoman empire). That's about as good as it got really (which from a citizens standpoint, isn't very good).

I didn't say they didn't deserve criticism, just that they don't deserved to be hated more than any other company necessarily. While Apple fans have a love-fest with Apple and worship at the feet of Steve Jobs others are content to spend hours thinking/showing how much they hate Bill Gates even though he's only the chairman now. Again, these are big companies, mostly in the business of serving their share-holders. Especially when comparing Apple to Microsoft is ridiculous in the first place. Its like comparing Frys to Best Buy, I guess what I'm saying is I'm tired of all the stupidness from both sides.

Its as if microsoft decided to inovate on looks, and then on functionality, but only got half way through implementing the functionality. I cant find anything in vista, "if its not broken, dont fix it". Improve security, improve GUI, don't change the way things were.

I have to admit that if you are complaining about Vista is because you haven't tried it and are using words of others to make yours...
Vista works great no issues like the first days of XP or even Millenium which was the real crap.
If you take away the widgets and the 3D desktop off it runs perfectly. You have to work a lot though to make the security feature a friend...
If you can't get what you want out of Vista it's simply because you don't own most of your software installed. Stop pirating and downloading scrap from the net you might be able to use Vista at is full potential.
