iPhone/iTouch Playstation Emulator Released

Earlier this month, we brought you news of an impending Playstation 1 emulator for the iPhone and iPod touch, called psx4iphone. Well, guess what? The first public release is now up and ready to be downloaded. We have not tried it ourselves, but as soon as we get a minute, we shall have you filled in on how Lara looks (and feels) on our iPhone. I was talking to my friend while he was using his iPod Touch, and he wasn't listening to music so I asked him what he was doing. He said he was playing DOOM, and i didn't believe him so he showed me. It was pretty laggy and whatnot, but I guess the novelty of playing Playstation games is enough for some people.

I notice the title of this post reads, "iTouch" instead of iPod Touch. Just wondering, is "iTouch" even a legit, official name?? Cuz on the Apple products site I don't see the word "iTouch" anywhere, and yet, I hear people call it by that name.

someone needs to create a controller peripheral for the iphone/ipodtouch. the device is kick ass, but it needs to have the ability to add on physical controls.
Give us the add-on controls and I'll start selling my plasma to get one...

@R031E5: Its not perfect yet but it is getting alot better though. am loving yahoo push mail and not to mention its free. the service was not working to good when the iphone came out, but now its working flawlessly on my iphone. the emails take less than 15 seconds to reach my iphone and am loving it

Am I the only one who wants too see a SNES emulator for the touch/iPhone?
The GBA emulator was laggy already - I would think that the Playstation would be even worse (not to mention the size taken up by the roms is considerably larger)...

no crash bandicoot?! nooo.... that was the only reason i was looking forward to this.... crash bandicoot: warped was my favorite game as a kid. oh well.
oh wait, i dont even own an iphone. silly me.

@cookedart: The GBA emulator isn't that bad. I've played a few hours of pokemans.
The NES emulator is surprising laggy, especially considering how old and archaic the NES is.

It really should get an SNES emulator. That would totally sell me on the Touch.
Too bad the iPhone/Touch hasn't been hacked to the max...yet. I look at what Dark_Alex did to the PSP with his custom firmwares that smoke the crap out of Sony's official firmwares and I envy it. The Touch has plenty o f storage - 8gb or 16gb is a lot to hold music, NES/SNES/GENESIS games if you ask me - especially the 16gb one.
Someone get onto it! Once I see the true potential of the Touch, then I'll drop the dough. The same happened with the PSP.
