FyreTV Brings Adult IPTV To Your Living Room
Posted by Jason Chen at 7:30 AM on December 15, 2007
Picture a Vudu IPTV box that brings porn into your living room over the internet. That's FyreTV, which will be "The Hottest BoXXX You'll Ever Experience" when beta applications begin in just about 12 hours. There's not many details on their home page or their meager press release that just says they've signed up non-exclusive deals with a few adult content providers. What we do know is that this is completely streaming (no downloading and saving), and you'll be able to create favourites and search movies for "specific performers and scenes". Sounds like FireTV isn't the only thing that'll be coming soon. [FyreTV via Adult FYI (NSFW) - Thanks Bryan G!]

I can create favorites alright, but I'm not sure how many other people will want to watch them. Oh wait. Okay, yeah, now I understand you meant.

You didn't seriously just make a "coming" joke, did you? You get points for not spelling it with a u, but still.

@zombo: No, I'm sure it will stream in the same quality that you get from cable VOD. Which isn't that bad at all, but I'll wait to see the specs and pricing first. Otherwise its a great idea.

Does it come with a floor drain? Or at least a plastic couch cover?
If not, no sale.

Wow... can't we already do this on the intarweb? Video streaming porn videos is not exactly a breakthrough here folks. I can't imagine the quality of some shitty 320x240 video being that great on my TV.

Once again, the gay giz readers feel left out. But we'll be ok. We'll be ok...Are straight gadget lovers just starved for women?

Hmm, no prices. Oh well. I'm sure that it would be over priced anyway.
Plus, I've have porn delivered to my living room for the cost of an ISP and newsgroup provider for years now.
And with things such as Media Center, TVersity, and the new Divx support, that delivery is even easier.

This device streams HD content, and allows you to search a lot of videos for specific scenes, delivered to your TV.

While never opposed to more porn, this device really has no purpose. Unless you don't own a PC. And I can't think of any self respecting connoisseur of porn not having at least one PC.

Indeed. The IP porn box has been done.
But all giz readers know: only idiots pay for porn on the internet.

Ok, for those of you who want a sneak peek into the product pricing here it goes…
The product will be priced very much like cable television, it will have a very low monthly recurring ($9.99) which will allow you to watch any content in the system for "X" amount of minutes; you can purchase additional minutes to continue watching. You will also be able to rent movies that you will be able to playback in the system unlimited time; and last but not least you will be able to buy "premium packages" that will range from 14.99 to 29.99 to watch a particular content houses movies without limit.
Quality? If you have 1.5mbps you can watch full DVD quality; we also offer lower qualities in the event that your internet quality degrades.
How much content? Hmmm, A LOT, we have currently secured around 10,000 movie titles, however we will be releasing only around 1000-2000 for the beta testers (which will have free access to the system and all its movies for as long as the test runs)
How many beta testers are we expecting? 5000 qualified…
How do you improve your chances to get into the beta test? First come first serve, application opens in a few hours!
