AK47 Paper Gun Model Kit, for Terrorising Paper Dolls
Posted by Charlie White at 1:32 AM on December 20, 2007
The AK47 assault rifle is probably the most popular weapon in the world, so much so that it's been made into lamps by designer Philippe Stark, gold plated by Saddam Hussein, and there's even a Hello Kitty edition. Now you can build yourself a perfectly harmless replica of the beloved killing machine with this AK47 Paper Gun Model Kit, available in the form of a $US30 booklet complete with an instruction poster. Wonder what would happen if you tried to get one of these models through the TSA checkpoints at the airport? [Die Gestalten, via Like Cool]

$30 for a paper AK-47? In some countries, you can buy a real one for a goat.

Actually, that would be interesting if they let you on a plane with that book and you made it on the plane. What would they say then?

Great, now airport security is going to be even more difficult.

@gokor: Yeah, that's why the assault rifles are cheap.

@TheCapt: "Hi. I'm a Federal Air Marshall. You're under arrest."
@gokor: Contrary to popular self-perception, Texas is not a country. And they usually refer to him/her by another of his/her names.

@92BuickLeSabre: Texas may as well be, it's better than the rest of America as it is, and is the only state that is completely self sufficient.

I think they invented corn dogs at the Texas Stare Fair as well.
Best State Fair I've ever attended, I have to give 'em that.

@froggy: They can't secede from the U.S. Where would all the patent trolls file their frivolous lawsuits then????

Stop picking on Texas. They still make the best burgers in the country. and I like cowboy boots. and Austin has, arguably, some of the best blues in the country.
as for the rest of Texas - don't care. But I believe it is in the constitution of the state that they could secede if they so desire. So it's up to them if they want to be a different country. :)

It's quite simple, really. Bring it on the flight in book form (assuming you're on a REALLY long flight) then put it together on the plane. Sure would help the flight time go by a lot faster (in more ways than one!)
I can see these being found often on Japan Air flights =Þ

Come on, why all the Texas hate? It's a beautiful state.
Besides, real Texans are polite enough not to get on the internet and make themselves look like an ass.

@SMSDHubbard: I'd write a polite and thoughtful counterpoint to your gross overgeneralization of us, but I'll just resort to the first thing that comes to mind.
Anyway, I bet the TSA goons would either laugh their asses off (10-20% likely) or coldly demand its instant destruction or abandonment in the trash (80-90% likely).

@gokor: You do an absolutely fabulous job of representing your fellow Texans.
Rude, ignorant, egotistical, and COMPLETELY without facts to back up your claims.

@gokor: No ignorance here my friend, at least in the "lack of knowledge" sense, at least as to this.
I'm from "near Texas" myself and spent plenty o' time all over that damned state. Family from Amarillo to Brownsville to El Paso, and damned near everywhere in-between.
And, state house or no, Austin, my friend, is not Texas. I do love Austin.

if it shot spitballs rapid-fire I would, but this is a whole lot of effort and time for something downright retarded. How long before some kid gets gunned down in arts and crafts class? ...no really, I want to know so I can laugh my ass off.

This is funny. My friend made a paper gun like this, but much less detailed, and brought it to school one day for a project. A janitor thought it was a real gun, and we had a lock-down drill. About 6 sheriffs came with m-4's and rifles, and other smgs and had to search around until they found him in his class. He had no idea what was happening until he saw them outside, and ripped it up. I was next-door to his class watching the whole thing. It was pretty hilarious.
