Well, I just got back from China, on the mainland and in Hong Kong there are many types of knockoffs similar to this (vaguely similar to an Apple product) that are absolute crap. Just the feel of them and the way they work indicate they are worth what they charge for them.

@Jeff Martin: I am a person who keeps buying IPODs, or at least 2 of them (3rd gen and now 5th). I love the functionality of the Touch, but I can't justify stepping down to half the capacity of my current Ipod for $150 more. My problem with Apple is that it seems like you get less and less of everything with each successive generation of IPOD. My 3rd generation came with a dock, wall charger, firewire cable, belt case, remote control, and headphones. My 5th generation came with a usb cable, headphones, and a crappy felt pouch. That's it. I think Apple is getting fat and lazy, and I honestly think they abandon their customers who have older Apple products. It makes me sad.

@Pselus: I agree, it always makes it seem like he doesn't actually know what "4GB" means. At Fry's I would have customers all the time who would read the ad and come in looking for the 1 gee-bee mp3 player and have no idea what it was, only that it was cheap. Even if you are catering the video review to the non tech savvy it still makes more sense to use the tech jargon to describe the player... at the very least it will help people learn what "4GB" means.

Does anyone else think it's cooler to have one of these knock-offs than the actually thing? It's like buying your prescriptions from Canada. Like I'm sticking it to the "man" and I have a player that less than one percent of the population even know about.

@EMoShunz: Thanks, it looked odd? But can anyone recommend a archos player? Im looking at the 404 with camera for $150, 604 wifi for $190 or the 605 wifi for $290. I know I will get knickel and dimed everytime for the 605 but I like the flash support. Unless one of you could recommend another dvr like player like cowon's but it has to be cheap as possible

I mean, Apple adding an FM tuner and broader video support to their iPod line would be incredible. But I don't think it behooves them to do so unless they lose the majority of the market share. Zune made a little dent, but iPod doesn't need to evolve to Zune's specs because people keep buying iPods.
