Very Lonely Man Collects Every Super Soaker Ever to Fill Empty Void of His Life
Posted by Adam Frucci at 10:40 AM on November 13, 2007
This dude, for some unholy reason, owns every Super Soaker ever. Every. One. I mean, are these things even valuable? I don't see how they could be because I can't imagine anyone else being insane enough to care about some 1988 special edition Super Soaker. How does he explain his "hobby" to dates, assuming he's ever gone out on one? "Yes, I am a grown man and I collect water guns. I have enough to fill up an entire garage, and I'm seriously in debt because of it. But hey, it's totally worth it, right? Perhaps you'd like to come over and… hey, where are you going? You didn't finish your Quarter Pounder!" Click for a bigger version of the picture. [Electro^Plankton via Geekologie]

ok seriously if i had the time or the money i would do that... imagine what an amazing water fight you could have with all of those guns... assuming that this guy has friends and his hobby hasn't taken that away as well as leaving that hole in his pocket.

hey, you got to collect something in life.
Super Soakers are cool... not sure if I would have more than a few... use it for a couple of summers, it breaks or gets left outside during the winter months... you get another one.
I wonder how many of those in that picture have actually had water in them?

Wow. I'm a little worried about what "fluid" someone obviously that lonely and friendless might load in these things.
How much for the whole collection on eBay? $25?

Meh, what separates him from every other collector out there? Whether you collect stamps, comics, figures, Super Soakers, whatever, you're definitely not doing it for any practical value, but because it makes you happy. And if this is what makes him happy, why not?
Besides, I bet he throws some kickin' summer pool parties with all that hardware. I mean, I would.
Good on you, Super Soaker Guy.

I'm sure some of them are worth a decent amount of $$$. I remember the first few were really hard to come by, and must, in some form or another be worth something. Besides, the best things to collect are things that nobody else had thought of to keep around! How valueable are action figures when everyone else collected them?

It's cool because I can spot the very first one I had. Good job. Is this any worse than the guy who collects all the Apple computers? At least this guy gets OUTDOORS. Not so cool about the debt, though. Wait until you have money, then build your collection using eBay.

That's the makings of one killer summers day.
Also, where's everyone getting this info on him having gone into serious debt?
And finally, where's the logic in collecting most of the stuff people collect? I'm with Heartburnkid on this one. I'd collect Super Soakers long before I start collecting stamps or bottle caps or some other crap like that
