The Evolution of The Post-it
Posted by Sean Fallon at 9:40 AM on November 29, 2007
The Post-It note is one of those seemingly simple ideas that end up taking off and making a fortune. While there are plenty of higher tech alternatives out there looking to capitalise on Post-it success, there is still something about the classic that keeps people coming back. This Pock-it concept doesn't look to completely re-invent the Post-it note —it just gives it a basic upgrade with the addition of a convenient little pocket. The folks at 3M should be all over this and get it on the market if you ask me. [Yanko Design]

Based on the strength of the sticky part - you'd probably not be able to hold more than a very thin business card.
Oh, and it would be completely obscured so you won't see what's on the card until you pulled it out...

Seems like a nice way for small businesses to stuff business cards in something.....er....I guess.

@ideaman2020:
Obviously, it's perfect for loosely attaching your credit card to your laptop to enable laptop-snatchers to really hit the jackpot.
"Candy From a Baby." That's what they should call these.

You could completely cover the imac with those pockets and put a $20 in each one and i still wouldn't disgrace my house by bringing that inside.

None, seeing that you have to actually have that serial number, you know, on the machine.

Funny because mac's have the stickies app. That's a big reason as to why i dont use stickies around my monitor anymore.

@iomatic: false: ill tell you right now that that machine was purchase in japan on 09/06/07 is a 20"2.0Ghz 1GB of ram has a 250GB hdd and has apple care. all a service provider would have to do is place a claim on a non-returnable part under a company's name and there you go. a claim.
So instead of "none" i would would say many claims.

@WD40: Yeah, but do you guys forget that not all of the notes would be placed there by you, yourself? (i.e. a coworker/secretary makes a note that Mr. so-and-so business man came to the office while you were out and left his business card, which could conveniently be placed with the note on your monitor). Not saying that there's a huge market for this, but sticky notes are still around. I bet you have some, somewhere at your desk. Seems like the Pock-it is not a bad idea to me, although it certainly would have been more successful if made 15-20 years ago. Either way, I wish I had thought of it first.
