Sony Ericsson MD300 USB 3G Modem Supports Windows, Mac
Posted by Jason Chen at 5:03 AM on November 7, 2007
The MD300 USB 3G modem doesn't just look slick with its silver or black finish, it supports HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE or GPRS connectivity to keep you connected while you're getting skin cancer outdoors. The device supports Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Mac OS X, something most people don't usually do right out of the gate. There's 850/1900/2100MHz HSDPA/UMTS and quad-band EDGE/GPRS, which means you can use this on the US 3G providers. Availability looks like Q1 2008, but no word on whether it's Europe-only or if it's going to be coming here as well. [Sony Ericsson]

@nutbastard: I used to have a laptop card with unlimited data and ATT, worked fine but I was sharing the SIM with my cell phone. Lots of tedious swapping, so I bought a cable and now use the phone as a tethered modem instead. Bonus - I can accept incoming calls!

This would give me modem capability opening up the door to me getting an iPhone. It would be nice if I could combine tariffs on o2.

Anyone use this sort of stuff? any companies offering unlimited data at reasonable prices? Is there a good way to split this up in a router for multiple computers?

@wbremner:
but unlimited REALLY is unlimited, as in, setup fees aside, it's a flat rate every month with no cap? I already use tmobile for my cell (which doesnt work at home) and all i got is dialup. would you recommend this as a primary connection to the tubes??
