Soft Mouse Concept Looks Turgid, Feels Flaccid
Posted by Jason Chen at 5:30 AM on November 3, 2007
This wool felt and laminated bamboo ply mouse is soft and ergonomic the same way that a brick is not. Instead of being angled and curve and rounded to fit exactly to your hand (when in the claw position), it's box-shaped and conforms when you squeeze down on it. It's unclear why the designer made the right mouse button so much smaller than the left, but we're glad there's still room for that laser sight on the bottom. How this thing is going to charge is beyond our puny understanding of physics. You charge it by removing the bottom layer and replacing the batteries. [Joey Roth via Yanko Design]

Replacement mouse feet. Make a huge difference... the feet had come off my mouse, and I got a set of these...threw the mouse off the pad once it moved so easily...

The layout is based on the golden section. It was on Boing Boing or some other place that covered this today.

I'll hold out for the Mk II version with ergonomically squishy scrollwheel.

Mouse feet are a big problem... We need devices that do not rely on physical surfaces in order to generate movement on a screen.

This is all very interesting and nice concept, but a rigid or soft scroll wheel would really be welcome.

I wore my mouse feet out and it felt like dragging a brick over concrete. Not sure how that relates to the story, just thought I'd jump on the brick bandwagon.

Does it also hang in the air in precisely the same way that bricks do not? If so, I'll take three in infrablack.
