Sidekick Slide Design Flaw Causes Resets?

7:45AM November 13, 2007 | Jason Chen

Boy Genius reports that Sidekick Slide users are getting sudden restarts after flippign the screen up and down a few times. The cause? Apparently a build flaw that has too big of a gap between the contacts for the battery and the connector on the phone. Telstra, an Australian company, seems to be having similar problems on their version of the Motorola device called the Hiptop Slide. A temporary solution is to shove a piece of paper—maybe a business card—between the wall and the battery. This happening to any of you? [Boy Genius]

I’ve recently purchased a Hiptoop Slide and apparently it takes from 3 to 48 hours to register untill you can use the internet email messaging calling etc. I have had my Hiptop for five days now and it still will not register. has this happened to anyone else. how can i get it to register?

Yeah I got a hiptop slide a week and a half ago first I had to wait a whole day while they tried to port my number over but I still had to get a new one. Then when using it, it started restarting when ever I closed the screen.
