meh. this is a joke, a sad carrot being dangled in front of us. Do the numbers - at $30 / month average line rental only, this lame little publicity stunt will save you about $10 a month, while aiming to make you forget that you are still on 20MB adsl copper wire dating back to AD 1950, when little Johnny was still but a wee lad in short pants.

When are providers in this country going to get real and start offering real (ie uncapped) broadband rather than this fiction of capped/peak/offpeak (because the little monkeys inside the modems have to work harder to deliver those baskets of bits during "peak" time)

Just fyi my last connection when i lived in tokyo ? $5/month unlimited (there is no other) 100MB wireless, no modem needed, open up yr laptop & go. $15 setup fee, done online, takes 10 minutes to activate & start using. When i tried to get something even remotely similar here i was looking at $1000+ / month.

By conservative estimate, we are 10 years behind them and that rate is accelerating. Their next platform will be Wimax rolled out across all major cities, meaning iPhones constantly connected via wifi anywhere in the CBD. We are in the dark ages here, and weak stunts like "naked DSL" are just smoke & mirrors to distract from that fact.

questionable as to whether amnet or iinet was first, but it should be noted that the iinet caps INCLUDE uploads
