Garmin decided not to pursue purchasing Tele Atlas, and instead signed a six-year deal with Navteq, agreeing to help Navteq improve its data. For those of you playing along at home: TomTom will likely get Tele Atlas, and Nokia's takeover of Navteq won't affect Garmin's cozy relationship. [Garmin]

Garmin should have purchased Navteq a long time ago. Management should be fired for incompetence to say the least.

Stocks up...I guess they will have to build one from scratch. It would cost less and take about 6 years!

what's funny is that garmin drove the bid for tele up so high that tomtom has to buy it and its going to really suck for them.
