@LUCKYPICTURES: I don't need Apple releasing a firmware patch that suddenly bricks my new ultra-portable laptop - just not what I'd consider fun. Remember all those bricked iPhones? Just wait - it will happen with Hackintosh too. Then there will be a patch to fix it, then Apple will brick again... and endless cycle. And I'd still need to keep a "standby" PC to use for whenever this happens. In the end, is that really worth it?

nice. now i'm just waiting to see how much more the 1001 will be. and how much the supposed larger battery will be. a black 1001 with the 5-6 hour battery would be perfect. unless it is over $500... then i'd just get this one.

@LUCKYPICTURES: I thought that the people who cracked / unlocked their iPhones would have been smart enough not to update too... but we all heard how that turned out. And there is a slew of rebricking each time there's a new update to the firmware.

Personally, if I installed Hackintosh, I'd even be wary of going online with it. You never know what those OS manufactures "slip in" without you knowing. It's happend with Microsoft updates before, and it's only a matter of time before it happens with Apple too (sorry fanboys...)

So a hackintoshed Asus is damn near a Mac.
