Full Verizon Voyager Specs Leaked
Posted by Sean Fallon at 11:47 AM on November 1, 2007
If you have been eagerly anticipating the release of the LG VX10000 "Voyager" from Verizon, you will be happy to know that a full spec sheet has leaked onto the web. A recent hands on revealed some interesting details like an external touch screen, QWERTY keyboard, and an HTML browser —but the spec sheet elaborates with features like: internal and external displays with 400 x 240 resolution, 240 minutes of talk time and 480 hours of standby, QVGA video resolution, and more. There is even a list of available accessories —but still no word on pricing. For the full details on the Voyager specs, hit the following PDF link. [Spec Sheet PDF via Phone News]

@Wegmans:
"And you should be able to put your own music/videos on it and not have to conform to f-ing VCast which is the biggest ripoff ever!"
If its like any other LG phone that verizon comes out with, someone will hack it so you can do that. Ive owned LG phones for years and I never paid for one ringtone or song I put on it.

Who wants a phone they have to open to get a QWERTY keyboard? Haven't we learned that that can be integrated into a touch screen? Even without multitouch it can work! You shouldn't have to open your phone up like that to enter information..
And you should be able to put your own music/videos on it and not have to conform to f-ing VCast which is the biggest ripoff ever!
Verizon, stop releasing crappy half-assed phones! You blew it with the iPhone, so figure it out!

@Wegmans:
About the keyboard, I'll leave that up to opinion, but I like how the env and this phone's keyboard work. The part about putting your own music on it...you can. All LG's since the Vx8100, you just need a memory card and you can put any music on that card and use it from your phone. I've been watching movies and listening to MP3's from my computer on my Verizon LG phone for the last 3 years.

this is actually a pretty cool effort from vzw. I mean, it's aiming at the touch capabilities while staying true to it's original styling. I think it's pretty cool...not quite worth 300 after rebate...you could get the up-and-coming vzw pearl for about the same :D

@Wegmans: If you take off your Apple-tinted glasses for a moment, you'll come to the (shocking!) realization that there are people who want an actual keyboard. By all means, feel free to congratulate yourself on how much better you are than everyone else by having a virtual keyboard.
I'll take my real one. To each their own, if that's a concept that you're familiar with (doubtful).

I can't wait to buy this phone! Jeez, what's the hate with a keyboard...calm down! i think it's actually an advantage. Maybe that person is just a Verizon hater!

I have to side with those who say they like a physical keyboard. I wanted a Treo for a while(though since becoming more of a phone geek I've also become an HTC fanboy), and I have an enV now, and had a samsung u740 before that. I'll never be able to own a phone without a qwerty keypad again.
That said, though the HTML browser is nice, without wi-fi this just doesn't seem to really offer any features to make it worth the upgrade, especially at $300. I mean, other than a larger inner screen, and feeling cool 'cause you have a nice touch screen phone, is this really any better than the current enV?

It seems cool, and I wanted one at first, but man it's big compared to my VX8600.
Big big, say thankya.
-and I just don't do enough texting to warrant another phone's worth of mass in my front pocket.
Not that I'm in a hurry. My "New every two" has a ways to go yet. -like 15 months. :(

@Skemo: Congratulations on being completely off-topic.
I worked at Wegmans for many many years, but you don't see me rambling on about it...
Now if only I had something on-topic to say.. Oh! I know. Verizon sucks. There. That should cover it.

As a Verizon customer for the past 6 years... I think its time to go. Are they serious with the new data plans?? I really hate that IN calling is such a good deal otherwise I'd already be on some other carrier. This phone is nice but is it really almost iphone worthy ($350)? We shall see.

According to the PDF, It says it comes with a USB cable and the music management CD???. I've always paid like $4 for a cable on ebay, but Verizon including all this with the phone is very...uh...non-Verizon, but for $300 I guess it makes sense.

In order to get most of the features on the phone you will need to get a "power" plan that will run you $100 a month if you combine it with verizon's cheapest national plan.
Oh and did i hear correctly - data is going to cost ya by the MB now? Thank god i got the iphone - i do as i wish and pay $60 a month.
You gotta be nucking futs to even consider buying this over the iPhone. Did i mention the phone's ugly? VZW guys i know this is hard to accept, i was with verizon for 3 years, but they really do SUCK HARDCORE when it comes to new technology.

@Wegmans:
"You shouldn't have to open your phone up like that to enter information.."
You obviously have never owned a phone with a full qwerty keyboard because many people prefer them to typing than hunting and pecking as on the iPhone. It is much quicker and easier.
"And you should be able to put your own music/videos on it and not have to conform to f-ing VCast which is the biggest ripoff ever!"
You also must have never had a phone on Verizon because as someone else mentioned you can put any movies and music you want that you own on your phone without subscribing to any VCAST services.
Don't bash a good looking phone that is finally coming to verizon because you are obviously an iPhone fanboy upset that there is finally hype over some other phone.

Weak...VZW will lock out all features, you will have to pay for everything, no WiFi, no Windows Mobile software; just a new version of the Env....NEXT!!!

Touchscreen on a cellphone is an overated novelty. I hope they dont make all phones with touchscreen anytime soon.
By the way if you want your own music and videos and have verizon, try ToneThis.com, or other websites like it or just download it onto the sd card and put it back into the phone. There are ways around the limited options verizon gives you.

hhhhmmm... do I smell a banning coming on?
@skyline6: Yes, I have a phone. Yes, I have a Verizon phone [and have for ten years]. Yes, I have experienced things with Verizon that suck.
You complain about the level of discourse here, yet you offer nothing of substance. You are the one who sounds like a child in elementary school.
Do you have a phone?
Here's a clue: if you want to sound knowledgeable rather than like a ranting brat while challenging other posters' statements, try being a little less abusive...
