Cop Tases Pregnant Woman for Trying to Leave Police Station
Posted by Matt Buchanan at 11:20 AM on November 30, 2007
As tasers turn into must-have gadgets for self-defence and police officers alike, dubious tasings have apparently also gone epidemic, making taser-proof clothing a must for any activist's, driver's or breathing human's Christmas list. Today's exhibit: A woman walks into a police station, wants to give up her one-year-old, then tries to leave. Guess what happens? To be fair though, if she was more cooperative, should probably wouldn't have gotten the toasted. [Liveleak]

What's really important is that the officer went home safe that night.

@phatsac: What if said cop walks up to my car window fingering his pistol and I tase him, thinking he's trying to carjack me? Do I get a pass because it was self defense?

@phatsac: Too true. Similarly, I knew (yes, personally) a couple of guys who were arrested for essentially resisting arrest (yes, I do see the irony already) because they didn't stop when two cops yelled at them to stop while they were walking from the bus (yes, just walking from the bus to their homes) in an only semi-safe area late at night.
Oh, did I mention that the cops were plain-clothes, didn't show their badges, and didn't identify themselves as cops? You know, but they couldn't, cause they were trying to blend in, in plain-clothes and all.
Good times.

Is it so hard to NOT RESIST a cop? Have them fired after, but why get your butt zapped because of your ego??

While I don't like the story I find how you included a Pokèmon into the story quite humorous.

Yeah and if I accidentally taser a cop thinking he's trying to break into my house I'll go to prison or get shot.

phuking ridiculous
no way in that video she was dangerous enough to reqire a taser
to loosely quote michael coren in reference to the 6 (trained police) on 1 (unarmed older man) taser death in vancouver "so you may get punched in the face while using reasonable force, i'm sorry, but your a cop and it's your job"

Yeah, because cops aren't trained to handle those kind of situations at all, so I could understand him going gonzo apeshit on the pregnant woman.
WTF man, that cop needs to be FIRED.
Tasered and fired.

Hey wouldn't it be cool if the kid comes out to be the FLASH like in some comic book. Blade's mom was bitten by a vampire and he came out a "Day Walker". I tell you someone should keep an eye on the kid as soon as he/she pops out.

I always say it's best to tase the shit out of everything/everyone then figure out what is going on.
I don't understand why the cops tase everyone so readily. Not so long ago they didn't even have tasers, and they were perfectly capable of detaining a 6'5" 250 lb man much less a 150 lb pregnant chick. Not to mention AFTER she was down he tased her??? WTF?!

I don't know why you people make it so difficult. It's simple. If a cop is telling you to do something and you don't follow instructions, nothing good is going to come out of it. Is it that hard to understand? That's why I've never been shot at, tased, baton'd, pepper sprayed or anything else by the Police.
