Apple Backdated Stock Options Suit Dismissed, Fanboys Rejoice

Steve Jobs' options case has been thrown out of court. The judge let the case go since there's been no drop in the stock price as a result of the backdating. [Apple Insider]

So Jobs wasn't cleared of any wrong doing. The plaintiffs case was thrown out since the stock price didn't suffer based on the actions of Jobs and Co.

@FuzzysFriedChicken: well typically when you throw a case out, there was little evidence that wrongdoing was intended. So yes he was cleared as was everyone else involved since it was not a scam like Enron and others did, but a honest screwup...
you know those things happen too sometimes.

This was just a tool that the Justice Dept used to ensure that Steve Jobs does not make a run for President. The Republicans have a difficult enough time dealing with Clinton and Obama. I'm thinking certain assurrances were given before the suit was dismissed.

I think it's clear that many companies illegally backdated stock options (as was all the rage, until investigators caught on), but in my opinion they're letting it go in Steve's case.
