Word on the street is that Lab126, designers of Amazon's Kindle e-book reader, shares a California zip code with Apple, as well as a few former employees. Needless to say, Jon Ive isn't one of them. [Valleywag]
I'm with wilsonma29, shocker that they're not working at Apple anymore.

That isn't all that surprising. I'll bet Lab126 is where all of the Apple II, Lisa and original Mac designers were put out to pasture.

Kindle made by Apple designers? Maybe that's why they are not working for Apple anymore...
The Kindle already looks 5 years out dated.. clunky and old nasty color.

Perhaps Amazon should have used Lab127 instead. Janetboy7 is way out of line saying the Kindle looks 5 years out of date. I'd say more like 10 or 15 years. Not sure when I've seen a tackier product. The Chiclet keyboard with the rotating key positions boggles the mind.
