I've had a n800 for the last 4 months or so and I definitely enjoy it. The UI is no where near the fluidity of the iPhone, but the Application support is fantastic. There are ports for heaps of Linux apps and most utilites. It's replaced my desktop for general surfing almost entirely. The screens on these are great and more than double the resolution of the iphone so you can actually do heavy reading, not just zooming into a small news article on Safari.

Lets hope that the OS and UI improves. Apple has definitely given them incentive to get their arses into gear.
