Lite Source Lights Try to Help You Get Some
11:35PM Haroon Malik | Lite Source (their spelling) has released these funky lights to jazz up your shack. At 3.5″ in diameter and 9.5″ tall they shall definitely make an interesting prelude to an awkward make out session, which ends in the discovery of your collection of Care Bears, complete humiliation and indefinite social out casting. Hercules Hits 130.7mph On a Bicycle
10:15PM Haroon Malik | Markus Stoeckl just broke the World Speed Record for series mountain bikes, hitting an incredible 130.7mph, on a freaking mountain bike, people! Mr. Stoeckl is nicknamed “Hercules,” not only because he drank the milk of a lion when he was younger, but also because he is 6′4″, weighs 220lbs and travels at 130.7mph on a bicycle. Mr. Stoeckl devastated the previous record by a blistering 14.0mph. The super speed antics took place on a 2000m stretch at a 45 degree run in the Chilean Alps. To prevent his helmet from fogging up, Mr. Stoeckl had to hold his breath for the entire 40s it took to complete the distance. There is no video of this available as yet, but if you were at the Chilean Alps, with your camcorder and managed to get the blurry super-hero on camera, drop us a line. The guys at Wired asked a very interesting question; how the hell did he stop? Drop your suggestions below. [Wired] More »I was interviewed by Katie Hafner of the …

Giz Readers’ Best Computer Rigs Contest
11:13AM Jesus Diaz | After a Gizmodo reader sent us a photo of his amazing Star Wars-meet-CTU-meet-Firefly computer setup at the end of his LEGO Collectors Millennium Falcon unboxing images, we thought it could be a good idea to do a mini-contest to know what kind of cool rigs do you have. See the results and vote for your favourite after the jump. [Update: contest is still open until the end of Sunday. Post links to your entries in the comments.]
Microsoft’s “Falcon” Xbox 360 Is Here. Kind of.
11:10AM Yuri Baranovsky | If you’re like us, you’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Microsoft’s “Falcon” Xbox 360s, well, now they’re here. Apparently. The guys over at the Xbox official forums have noticed that the Halo edition 360s may just be the Falcons we’ve all dreamed about. The Falcon Xbox 360, by the way, has a 65nm CPU and is supposed to run cooler and, ideally, not die after three days, which is a nice change. The posters in the forums have torn theirs apart to show you what the innards of a Falcon may look like. Hit the link below to check out the pics. [Xbox Forums] More »
Carl Lewis Vibro-Exerciser Violently Vibrates the Fat Right Off Of You
10:20AM Yuri Baranovsky | If there’s one person in this world who has the skill and experience needed to build a wildly vibrating exercise machine, it’s famed Olympian Carl Lewis. Mr. Lewis has just released a machine called the Vibro-Exerciser, which supposedly uses your “subconscious muscle responses” to help reduce fat and improve circulation. The $283 machine is supposed to work 70% better than regular ol’ exercise, except that, well, it probably doesn’t work at all. But then again, I know very little about giant vibrators. Ecostrip Saves Energy, Polar Bears
9:55AM Yuri Baranovsky | We all have to pitch in to save the Earth from slowly burning to death – luckily, now we can — one power strip at a time. The USB Ecostrip is a power strip that connects to your computer via a USB cable. When the strip senses that your computer is off, it’ll turn everything else off as well — meaning, monitor, speakers, and whatever other delicious toys you’ve got plugged in, will be stopped from wasting precious, precious energy. The device is set to come to the US soon (we don’t quite know how soon yet) for $34.95. Easy, simple and probably a good way to save some money on the electric bill, the Ecostrip is, if nothing else, a good way to pitch in and maybe indirectly save a polar bear. 8:20AM Jason Chen | No no no! The deal was to make robots clumsily—and harmlessly—lumber along like the Honda Asimo, not spry and limber like this Japanese jumping frog robot. Mowgli, or as we call him, Death Jumper-kun, can hop about 50 cm into the air, effectively putting them at slightly under crotch height. Its creators at University of Tokyo, also known as Todai (which means atrocities against humanity), also programmed it to kick a soccer ball and leap down again from the chair. We better stop these maniacs now before one of them gets the bright idea to strap some saw blades to its feet. [Crazy U via Tech.co.uk via The Raw Feed] More »
Sony Teases With SonyDrive
7:20AM Jason Chen | It’s hard to tell what this SonyDrive website is, partially because it’s in Japanese, and partially because the product doesn’t really look like anything we’d use. Judging from what’s behind the bow, this can either be an industrial paper cutter, a 1980s electric typewriter, a gigantic notebook that can withstand a nuclear explosion, a scale for dogs, the PlayStation 4, the ashes of former PlayStation chief Kutaragi, a new MiniDisc Macro, a Bravia TV Shuffle, a Green-Ray movie player, the actual ending to Halo 3, or something we might actually buy. We’ll see! [Sony] More »
