RFID Microchips Implanted into Alzheimer's Patients
Posted by Adam Frucci at 4:00 AM on August 30, 2007
It looks like some of the first people to be implanted with Big-Brotherish tracking devices will be people who won't know enough to say no: Alzheimer's patients. The chips are designed to hold their personal information, so if they end up wandering off looking for a gumdrop mansion or to go see the new Greta Garbo movie, the authorities can find out who they are. It seems like the start of a slippery slope to start implanting chips in the old and infirm, but then again, it seems like it serves a useful purpose. What do you guys think, is this OK or a big ol' violation of privacy? [Consumerist]

It is a good idea with a definite need but unfortunately history is littered with well meaning ideas that end up being used for some completely different purpose. Next some wally will want to implant them in their kids in case they get lost so they will still be there by the time they are an adult. Next they become compulsory.
Next thing say hello to your brother...not your older but your BIG brother.

No No No, of course it's not a good idea!!! How many Alz patients have gone missing never to return? Not many I'm guessing. People need to wake up and realize what's really going on here. What ever happened to freedom and individuality. We are all so conditioned into believing that dare I say it, terrorism, is such a threat, thanks to the media, that we need to 'protect' ourselves and love ones which is just what these authoritive figures want us to think, so these rfid chips wont be forced upon us, we'll want them. Well I for one wont be lining up with my family to be implanted now or ever.
