Digital Pencil, Save Your Fingertips

Thinking of buying that super-expensive graphics tablet? Maybe you don’t need to, because Suck are offering this digital pencil that mimics the human finger, allowing it to be used on touch pads.

Using a pencil is more intuitive than drawing with a touch-pad, but I’m not sure how useful this is actually going to be, cute as it is. It’s made from a ‘super special space age silicone’ and should be available soon. [Suck]

Einstein Wrong, Form a Queue for Time Travel

So, it turns out that maybe Einstein was wrong about that whole relativity thing. A couple of German physicists claim that they’ve broken the speed of light (with a photon, not a rocket, disappointingly). What this means is that time travel, instantaneous traveling between distant locations and really fast download speeds could all be possible.

Buy a Cheap Antonov, Laugh at Carry-on Limits

If infinite legroom and no carry-on limits appeal to you, then you’re in luck, because the Russian government are selling off Anotonov AN-124s cheap. You can probably grab yourself a bargain with one of the enormous planes, which can carry a load of 150 metric tons. There’s even a bedroom for the pilots, which you can see in the video after the jump.

Halo 3: First look at new ‘Narrows’ multiplayer map

Gizmodo AU

We got to see some hot new Halo 3 action today, in the form of the eighth multiplayer map to be announced, ‘Narrows’, and the spectacular new save films system in single player campaign mode. Want some tactical insight? You got it.

The pic above is of the wonderfully designed ‘Narrows’, built to suit 4-8 player CTF and Sniper multiplayer modes – it is long and skinny, with plenty of distant lines of sight and sniper rifles with easy access at the back of each team starting zone. It is a symmetrical (mirrored) map, complete with duelling Man Cannons down one side that will doubtless be the cause of a thousand nasty incidents – if two players launch at once, they’ll hit mid-air and both will die (unless you can frag the other before you get there). The ability to toss stuff like grenades into that stream should also help ‘clear’ the landing area before you arrive. If you’re not sniped mid-air.. but that Man Cannon flank is a fast route to getting in behind enemy lines, so if you can throw a bubble into the stream along with yourself (yep, for realz) you can wreak havok like a Master Chief should.

UPDATE: Oh yeah, and this Man Cannon actions makes for possible mid-air melee kills!

More strategic details on Narrows plus pics (thanks to IGN’s embargo breach) after the jump. -Seamus Byrne

PingMag got a one-on-one interview with Yasushi Kimura, founder of the Japanese design firm Sea Hope. And for as awesomely insane as their watches are, his responses were interesting and and not crazy at all. When questioned about peoples fascination with LED’s he responded

“Simply put, people like light and illuminations – it just enhances any accessory; especially in Japan, where it gets dark so early.

Fuze Media Systems unveiled their full home media system, which has several advantages over the pretty and fully competent Microsoft Windows Media Center. In a nutshell, it’s designed to be used throughout the entire house, with multiroom streaming. There are extenders called the Fuzemini that have HDMI out, DVD/CD drives, CableCARD. There’s even a touchscreen control panel, on top of the regular remote. But hold on: This Media Center PC isn’t actually a PC. galleryPost('fuze', 8, 'Fuze Media System');
