Kameraflage Images Only Visible Through a Digital Camera

11:27PM jenneth | With Kameraflage, now you’ll be able to plant subliminal messages on T-shirts, movies and billboards that can only be seen with digital cameras. This context-sensitive display technology, developed by Sarah Logie and Connor Dickie, works by using colors that are invisible to us but easily picked up by the silicon chips in digital cameras. As you can see, the lovely model above is wearing a shirt that only reveals that cloud’s lightning bolt when seen through an iPhone’s digital camera, although any ordinary unmodified digital camera would get the same result. She just as easily could have placed her phone number in that cloud. Hmm. Let’s think of some other uses for this cool tech. More »

Bumblebee Speaker Dances, Mixes Music with Transformers SFX

11:08PM jenneth | Remember the 9.8-inch Bumbleebee Speaker? Yeah, the one that tries to copulate with your MP3 player, dances, lights up and even ruins your music mixing it with annoying effects when you touch it, then makes you have nightmares and cry for your mom? Well, looking at these shiny Transformers porn pics, it looks like it will be mine for just $58.90. [Brando] galleryPost('bumblebeespeaker', 4, 'Bumblebee Speaker'); More »

Device Never Loses Your Cell, Though Maybe It Should

10:52PM jenneth | One Japanese company is developing a device to help with those moments (because you were drunk) that you might not remember (due to drunkeness) that you set down your phone (to hold another drink) and forgot to pick it up (surprisingly, just due to a general poor memory). The device fits in your pocket and communicates at all times with your phone. When you move outside of 5 meters, it beeps, shakes, and generally annoys you so you don’t leave the phone behind. MIT Plans to Steal Your Energy to Light Public Buildings

10:34PM jenneth | Two MIT grad students want to install devices in public buildings that generate electricity from footsteps. They want to install a type of floor that will power train stations and other commuter-heavy areas. The problem is that this energy has to come from somewhere – you. This type of floor will depress slightly when you step on it. If the floor moves, then it will require slightly more effort to walk. It’s a very mild form of the effect you get when you walk on sand. 180mph Car Treadmill Great for Designers, Dangerous for Pilots

8:37PM jenneth | Check this full size Nascar sitting on top of a steel belt sliding at 180mph. While wind tunnels have been used to design cars for years, the results can be affected by the fact that the ground is still. This machine solves that problem, in truly dramatic and dangerous fashion. Just like NASCAR itself. The image after the jump shows how giganormous this thing is. More »

Vodafone Opens Online Music Store

3:58PM jenneth | Call me new-fashioned, but I’ve actually been known to buy some of my music online. Never on a mobile phone though, as all the networks charge a freakishly-expensive $3 per song. Until today. Vodafone has just opened an online music store to complement their mobile offering, with individual tracks available for $1.99 each (slightly more expensive than iTunes’ $1.69) and $15.99 an album (cheaper than iTunes by a dollar). The kicker is that you need to be a Vodafone customer to buy anything. Music purchases can be made through your PC or mobile (and played on both), and if you lose your handset or change PCs, Vodafone will replace all your tracks for free. According to a Vodafone representative, the store has over half a million tracks, and also exclusive content like live tracks from artists like Wolfmother, Snow Patrol, Jet and more.
