If a cable fails the DSA8200, but yet passes in the home, you do not necessarily have to call 'BS'. Some projectors and HDMI sinks have elected to design in an equalizer on the input port to re-store the TMDS inter-symbol interference (ISI). The HDMI equalizer chipsets have gotten very afforadble (like the MAX3815).

I found this to be very informative. I recently sat in on a presentation where the discussion was about a new testing program that is going into effect at the end of January. It is called DPL or Digital Performance Level testing. They describe the problems that have been associated with HDMI and showed just how these problems exist. Rise time, skew, capacitance, and jitter. The DPL program measures the performance level of the product and ranks it with a score that anyone can understand and shop by. It would be interesting to see how your tests fall in line with the DPL ranks. I have decided to wait on HDMI cables until the ranks are published.
Do you have any more info on DPL?
