ive seen on amazon.com that the TX-NR905 being advertised for US$ 1699 and the TX-SR875 at $US 1269. To convert these prices to $AUS you multiply by 1.1 . Ofcourse you need to add other costs like transport and taxes but you can see our local Australian shops are ripping us off big time.

So whats going on with the prices here, can someone be strait with it because I"d like to buy the TX-NR905 too, to wack in my DVDO VP50.
I've been quoted $2600 aussie dollars for the TX-SR 875(after a $600 reduction)it sells for $1699 in the US
My DVDO sells for 3000US dollars, in the conversion it sells for $4800 aussie so how can something that sells for 2099US dollars be worth $5000 here,so what is the aussie price please

Hi There,
I am extremely interested in the ONKYO TX-NR905, and in enquiring about this product, I have been somewhat mislead. I would like to post on here the reply I got and feel free to comment back to me if you would be so kind.
THIS WAS WHAT I RECIEVED:
Hi Steve,

That unit will not be landing in Australia until August and when it does it will have a RRP of $4999.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the Onkyo Corporation but they have several brand names, the other major one is Integra. Integra manufacture a similar range of receivers (one to match each Onkyo version) however their units use better power supplies, capacitors, and sometimes more. They also have more home automation and control features.

The equivalent model to the Onkyo TX-NR905 will be the Integra DTR-8.8 and will have much the same specifications as the Onkyo version just with the better componentry and a few more control features. The exceptional thing is that for the first time I am aware of the Integra version does not command a premium price over the Onkyo version, its at $4,995.

I understand you are after a good quality unit and these are exceptional. Ever since the Integra brand reached Australia I've swapped over to them for my own use and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Also, these new amps feature Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio which make a big difference to your listening experience.

NOW PLEASE TELL ME IF U COULD, WHAT THE PRICE IN AUSSIE DOLLARS IS FOR THIS UNIT.

Thanx Steve
